New staff elder John Brown joins the team

As Jesus grows Emmanuel Church Northstowe, he’s also growing our team of staff and leaders to serve the growing church and help everyone to grow and serve (Ephesians 4:11-13). We’re delighted that John Brown has moved to Northstowe to join us as a staff elder (which in some churches would be called a pastor or minister).

John and Sarah are originally from America, but have spent over 20 years in the UK. They’ve been happily married for over 30 years and have 5 adult children. John describes becoming a Christian: “I grew up in California, raised by my Dad and three older brothers in a non-religious home. I was bit of a Jack-the-lad but began asking the big questions of life as a teenager and became a Christian at 18 years old.”

John started Servants Church in Norwich 20 years ago, and Jesus has grown the church there in numbers, maturity and diversity. John has now handed over leadership to a team of elders there.

John has a degree in Religious Studies, has completed the BCUK certificate course and has over 30 years of pastoral experience. He enjoys good coffee, good food and a good workout. He’s looking forward to getting involved in the community in Northstowe and helping it develop into the best community possible. If you’d like to get to know John or ask him questions, you can email him to arrange a coffee and chat: john.brown@emmanuelchurchnorthstowe.org
